Monster Mania 28 was great!

I can't express how much I love Monster Mania.  It feels like a home away from home.  I've been going to Chiller since I was in high school... but to be honest it had gotten a bit overwhelming.  When I started playing roller derby with PennJersey, I became a staple at the Monster Mania table from the very first time we went out to promote the league.

ANYWAY, that was all years ago, but I am truly thrilled to have the opportunity to spend my weekends at Monster Mania once again.  Horror is my first love.

I'm not particularly excitable, but I was *pretty* worked up by the Return of the Living Dead cast reunion!!  That's hands-down my FAVORITE movie of all time.  I would have liked to get everyone's autographs, but I didn't have something really nice like an art print or movie poster.  Also, I get shy.  Shameless self-promotion is sadly not in my nature!  I did attend the Q&A, and was very glad that I did!  I will have to pick up the documentary they made at some point.  Also, one of the couples that are among my best customers had just come from the Return of the Living Dead room, and he allowed me to nerd out all over all of his posters and photographs.  So I felt as if I got the enjoyment but without the anxiety.

I would have liked to give each cast member one of my "Are You Saying We're Dead?" soaps, but I was down to 2.  HOW COULD I DECIDE?  One was easy- I turned around at one point on Saturday, and Thom Mathews was sitting next to me.  Seriously!  My neighbor is Tim from Crypykeeper9 Productions and Thom played one of the Jasons.  So I gave Thom a soap, and he was only mildly impressed.  Ah, well.

On SUNDAY, THOUGH- a nice young lady came up to my table and said that Clu Gulager (Burt) from Return of the Living Dead wanted to buy soap.  WHAT.  Who was this young lady?  HOW DID SHE KNOW?

I brought Clu my last "Are You Saying We're Dead?" soap and he LOVED it.  He posed for pictures with it.  And then his daughter-in-law ditched him for 15 minutes so she could buy more soaps.  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!

Then, Allen Trautman talked me into buying a signed Tarman action figure.  I'm not made of stone, people.

Such a great weekend.  Lots of great people.  Until March, Monster Mania!
