About the Holiday:
Thanking the Sun is a boisterous holiday of fire, sweet foods, and athletic displays! 

This holiday celebrates the first of the grain harvests, the hard work of the Spring Caretaking, and acknowledges that the end of summer is on the horizon. In honor of this important physical labor, bunnies compete in contests of speed, digging, and feats of strength! Younger buns play intense games of "hide and seek" within the warren.

The winners of each competition then participate in a theatrical "mock battle" that symbolizes the battle of Caretakers against "Blight." Blight is played by a Guardian dressed in scary costume that features bark, bones, and horns! This costume varies from year to year as the final act of the mock battle is to burn the costume in effigy.

All the while, candies, sweets, and fruits are the foods of choice! As bunnies do not normally indulge their sweet tooth, this holiday is very much both highly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed!
